Przemysław Gasztold (Ph.D.) is a Senior Fellow at Orion Policy Institute and an Assistant Professor at the War Studies University in Warsaw, Faculty of National Security, Department of State Protection and Constitutional Order. He is also a Research Fellow at the Historical Research Office of the Institute of National Remembrance in Warsaw. His expertise lies in intelligence studies, international terrorism, and the Soviet Bloc’s relations with the Global South. Dr. Gasztold is the author of four books and numerous articles and chapters published in English, French, German, Norwegian, Dutch, and Albanian. He is the co-editor (with A. Hanni and T. Riegler) of Terrorism in the Cold War: State Involvement and Covert Operations. Volume 1: Eastern Europe and the Soviet Sphere of Influence and Volume 2: The West, the Middle East, and Latin America (I.B. Tauris/Bloomsbury Publishing, London–New York, 2020). He serves as a member of the organizing committee for the “Need to Know” intelligence conference, Managing Editor of Security & Defence Quarterly (Poland), a member of the editorial boards of Komunizm: system–ludzie–dokumentacja (Poland) and National Security and the Future (Croatia), and a member of the Program Council of the Gabriel Narutowicz Institute of Political Thought (Poland). In 2024, Dr. Gasztold was awarded the Tudjman Scientific Excellence Award at the Zagreb Security Forum.
