Dr. Dennis Lu-Chung Weng is a Non-Resident Research Fellow at the Orion Policy Institute and an Associate Professor of Political Science at Sam Houston State University. He is the founding Director of the Asia Pacific Peace Research Institute (APPRI) and a Non-Resident Fellow at the New Lines Institute in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Weng specializes in international relations, comparative politics, and the intersection of domestic political behavior with global affairs. His recent work focuses on U.S. and Asia-Pacific foreign policy and defense strategies. He is the co-author of The Myth of War in the Taiwan Strait: Elite Perspectives from Beijing, Taipei, and Washington amid the Yizhou Dilemma, which examines the perception gaps contributing to tensions in the Taiwan Strait.
A recognized expert on U.S.-China-Taiwan relations, Dr. Weng’s insights are widely featured in academic journals, op-eds, and media commentary.
