Orion Policy Institute (OPI) hosted a day-long online intensive seminar program on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, between 10 am – 4 pm EST on global security threats.

For certificates, OPI will get back to the participants who stayed through the end of the seminar, the week of June 23, 2025.  

The seminar schedule was as below:

10:00 am – 10:20 am – Welcome and introduction
10:20 am – 11:00 am – Trends in terrorism and counterterrorism in 2025
11:10 am – 11:50 am – The shifting dynamics in Syria and the region
12:00 pm – 12:40 pm – The Russia-Ukraine war and the Transatlantic relations
12:40 pm – 1:30 pm – Lunch break
1:30 pm – 2:10 pm – Filling the vacuum: China and the strategic competition
2:20 pm – 3:00 pm – New security threats in Africa
3:10 pm – 3:50 pm – Emerging technologies and the new threat landscape
3:50 pm – 4:00 pm – Concluding remarks
