Timothy Kappler is a Non-Resident Fellow at the Orion Policy Institute (OPI) and decorated veteran with over 15 years of experience across federal and private sectors. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Homeland Security at Liberty University, where his research predominately focuses on militant accelerationism, nihilistic violent extremism, and the role of online platforms in the radicalization of pre-radicalized subjects. 

 

Having worked with the Department of Justice, Department of Defense, and US Army Special Operations Command, Timothy additionally has contributed to the Global Network on Extremism and Technology (GNET) regarding the use of open-sourced information utilized by transnational criminal enterprises and terrorist organizations. He currently teaches Homeland Security at Glenville University and has previously provided risk intelligence for touring musical artists under Live Nation Entertainment. Timothy received his master’s in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati.
